Athanasios Ntzoumanis-Vassilios Tsombanidis climbed to the top of Regularity Category in a Lancia Fulvia Coupe, after the second leg of Historic Acropolis Rally Regularity. On Saturday, competitors of the Regularity category started from Itea, passed through Pendeoria, Malandrino, Kokkino, Lefkaditi, Delphi, ending up in Oiti for the first regrouping. Then, they passed through Oinochori, Kastellia, Kaloskopi, Prosilio and spent the night again in Itea.
Second overall, Kyriakos Farmakis-Maria Athanasopoulou in a Volvo 122 S of 1964, in front of last year’s winners, Christos Chatzikonstantinou-Manolis Dimakareas who climbed five places in a Volkswagen Golf II of 1985. Gerasimos Katochianos-Dimitris Stavropoulos are fourth, driving a Ford Fiesta MKI, with Aris Georgousopoulos-Nikos Kontopos in fifth place in a 1973 Toyota Celica ST. One place up from Friday were Alexandros and Dimitris Mourikis in a 1984 Ford Fiesta. The crew is sixth overall, ahead of the previously third in the standings, Dimitrios and Eleftherios Liakos who dropped four places on Saturday in a 1975 BMW 1502.
The mixed Austrian crew of Harald Hekerle-Brigitte Schneider in the orange 1971 Datsun 240Z is in eighth place, behind the Turks, last year’s Champions in their country in the Regularity class, Selim Bacioglu-Handan Bacioglu in the Mercedes Benz 230/4. Kyriakos Kofinas-Giorgos Tzavaras finished Leg 2 of the Regularity Rally in tenth position, driving a 1989 Volkswagen Golf II.
On Sunday, the crews will start in the morning from Itea and pass through Arachova, Amfikleia, Tithorea and Livadeia, ending up in Arvanitsa for the regrouping. Then, via Alepochori and Psatha, they will pass through Megara and they will finish in the Cultural Capital of Europe for 2023, Elefsina.
